  • Fabrication of broadband photoacoustic transducers (polymers or ceramics). Prototypes for performance evaluation, or unconventionally shaped single-elements.
  • Characterization of photoacoustic transducer/detector performance (acousto-electric impulse response, angular spectral sensitivity).
  • Fabrication of laser ultrasound sources and multi-element arrays (spherical, cylindrical, or planar).
  • Interfacing of laser technology with an established imaging modality of choice.
  • Develop optical fiber bundle based illuminators for photoacoustic and laser-ultrasound applications.
